For dinner, you are often looking for an appetizer that is lighter on the stomach, but still tasty and not too tricky. This salmon tartare is perfect for that! With just a few ingredients, you will put together a delicious and wonderful appetizer. Of course, this can also be made as a main course, but then I would recommend making a nice double portion!
All you need to prepare this delicious appetizer is the following :
These are the ingredients for 4 servings
- 300 grams of salmon
- 1 ripe avocado
- 1 lemon
- 2 tablespoons chives (fresh – finely chopped)
- 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
- 2 teaspoons sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon vinegar
- 1 teaspoon soy sauce
- pepper
*Extra: watercress for garnish
First, cut the raw salmon into small cubes. Then you are going to marinate these cubes in the mixture you make of sesame oil, vinegar, and soy sauce. Set this aside in the refrigerator so the salmon can marinate nicely. You can do this step up to 1 day in advance.
Next, grate the lemon and squeeze out the juice. Set this aside.
Then cut the avocado into small cubes (the same size as the raw salmon).
Then add the salmon and avocado along with 1 tablespoon of the lemon juice and 1 teaspoon of the lemon zest in a bowl. Add the chives and mayonnaise to this as well. Stir well and season with pepper.
And basically, you’ve now made the tartar! Now it’s just a matter of serving. A tip is to put the mixture of the avocado and salmon in a cooking ring to get a nice round shape. Of course, you can also do it with another shape, it’s just what you feel like!
Now finish the salmon tartare with some chives and cress. And voila! Here you have a not only delicious but also beautiful-looking dish!
